This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.
Millicent
This female juvenile is the eldest of the 2014 brood, hatched on 17th May and fledged on 12th July. Millicent’s ring is Blue/White AN0
Seasca
Also female, the second of the 2014 brood, hatched 19th May and fledged on 15th July. Seasca’s ring is Blue/White AN9.
LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Millicent & Seasca. Their younger sister Druie is not tagged, but ringed Blue/White AN8.
Breagha
A male from the 2013 brood, hatched 28th May and fledged on 19th July. Breagha’s ring is Blue/white CF4.

The migrations of Breagha and Oighrig were previously followed in this thread. Contact was lost with Oighrig in January 2014, but Breagha has survived and is living in the tidal creeks of the Casamance river in southern Senegal.
That's understandable, Wendy - the last blog he posted was on September 9th (though he did guest on one from Jen in October). Jen's blogs are really nice to read.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I do like her style too C would be good if she does take over officially!

Hi all, my understanding from the Loch Garten bloggers on FB is that Richard is leaving some time towards the end of this month, which sounds right when you look at the number of Limosa Holidays he will be leading from April onwards - see this list.
I really do hope that he writes one last, epic blog before he goes, I have enjoyed reading them over the years too! I look forward to more of Jen's blogs and perhaps one or two of the new LG team this season too...

I am sure that there are quite a number of people who can use Google Earth but the data is still firmly fixed on 13 March.

Thanks for that, Tiger. I've been looking at Google Earth and spotted March 13th but I couldn't see if there were any further dates as there are so many points!

It's easy....go to the View menu and select Sidebar, if this isn't how you use Google Earth normally.
Within the folder for Loch Garten Ospreys, each bird tracked has two subfolders, one called Route and one called Points.
If you open up the Points folder for Breagh(a), you can then scroll down and see what the latest Points are - I agree the 13th
.
If you want to see only the points for the last day (or any specific days), you tick the relevant boxes and those points appear.

I used to have GE Tiger, but didn't bother loading it on when I got a new computer. I hope the fact that the 13 March was a Friday is not a bad omen, will be very relieved to see an update that he is safe.

As LG are preparing for the start of the season, I would think they will stick with the recent pattern of weekly updates, sometime over the weekend, for as long as Breagha remains at his wintering site (even though they are now getting data more frequently).
There was certainly no sign of any problem on the 13th - he was moving around his usual area.
