The scene on Sunday morning.
Birdies LG DU update.
Day 69 for Egg#1, I wonder how much longer.... they really do have stamina this pair. Lady is still looking in fantastic condition this season despite the unhatched eggs.

I wonder if Lady is looking in fantastic condition because of the unhatched eggs....she will not have gone hungry. I still wish at least one had hatched, though.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Me too Clare. BlueYZ was such a big healthy chick last year, despite coming from the 4th egg.
I do wonder whether the egg the crow took was the one viable one, and that it dropped the one it picked up first because it seemed empty/too light. But I guess that is something we will never know....

These eggs are on exactly the same schedule as 2011 and they were collected on 7 July (see data) which is another 16 days. Has anyone checked what was happening at this time in 2011?

Lady was moulting when everyone thought she was looking old. I don't think the fact she looks great now has any bearing on whether or not she has chicks. She went through the exact same thing last year.

Wasn't quite the exact same thing last year Starling!
But you are right to hold me up on whether there is actually any connection between the two things - I was just looking at her and thinking how healthy she looks right now.
Talking of magic moments, one occurred four years ago today. See she has flown
Tiger, how could any of us forget her recovery from what seemed certain death.
I have no idea how you 'store' these items but I am sure many others will join me in thanking you for the opportunity to reflect upon those events.

It really is basic searching technique. The one thing that is much better in this forum since the "upgrade" is the search facility.
I am not sure if it was a result of this I have compiled a much better index to the Loch Garten Group
The way you find a specific thing in a very long thread is to check how many pages are in it If there is 100 the one checks page 50 and see if the thing you are looking for is above or below. If below you then check page 25 and then repeat ..... This quickly finds the day you want.
Both in protection mode before chasing intruder.
and back again.
