Morning Kate. I guess the problem of POSITIVELY identifying YD is simply that one has to be quite lucky to actually get sight of the ring and even more to actually read it.
Thanks Mike, agree, but wish one of the 'Bird watchers' in the area would have recorded a sighting. Still keep fingers crossed.CHOL:):)
Who knows may even make it back to Mother Nest !!!!
Hi SK2 - holding out for a sighting too, my hopes were raised when a sighting of a sat tagged osprey in Yorkshire was reported, so disappointed that no pics were able to confirm that one. Hope it wasn't just wishful thinking!
Lady was calling just now, but whatever it was seems to have gone away again

Both adults alarm calling defending their nest for some time now.
It has just calmed down but both birds seem to have left the nest.
Can still hear distant alarm calling. I hope the eggs are not taken.
Laddie back on the eggs. Lady standing on rh side of nest
Brenda sounds as though you caught a bit of Drama there CHOL:):
Just snapped this one...
The saga is ongoing, not happy, and something across the lens..
mantling
Seems quiet now. Lady off the eggs. Just walking around the edge of the cup. looking at the eggs.
She went for a fly around and has now settled on the eggs again.
