HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!
It's almost spring! I have never been so glad to see spring in all my life!
Last week's chat thread is HERE. The code for this week's thread is WC090314.

Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.
The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.
In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel.
In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.
In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel.
I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!
You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.
I have just passed on your message, Heather.
Thank you Alan but I have seen that and also received an e-mail. Interesting to see some names and not others. I guess some were on the veranda of the members bar, in the sunshine.
Margo: My thoughts are with you, and I'm sending healing energy.
Rita: Those lemons look fabulous. Very lovely.
Annette: I hope you enjoy your time with family this weekend!
Hello to everyone!
Evening all: Just up from little nap after busy morning in garden. Friend is taking me out for my long-passed birthday this evening; we're going to see YoYo Ma but dinner first. Poor OH will have to fend for himself re eats.
Brenda: Thanks for the info re LotL.
Alicat: Good luck with new job. What hours will you be working and will you have regular days off? Do hope so.
Amazed at lemons and olive tree in Scotland, albeit in conservatories. What ambitious gardeners. Our orange tree has put out a second crop. Tasted one yesterday and it was very tart; not sure if more time on the tree will sweeten them up. Both the orange and satsuma are putting out their first (wonderfully fragrant) blossoms.
Well, I see I went off to the concert and didn't hit "reply" before I left! So it's now five hours later.
Anyway, off out early tomorrow to daughter's with my vacuum cleaner(which is so much nicer than hers) and to help her do a quick tidy up etc., before the girls arrive.
Take care everyone.
Good Morning ALL. Another very foggy morning but it looks as if it is beginning to clear now.
Annette, Lovely to have a birthday treat, a month after your birthday. I am sure your daughter appreciates the help with the vacuuming.
Diane, I hope everything is fine with you.
AQ, Just remembered that you were spending Thursday with your daughter and LM. Hope all is well with them and you are not too tired.
My brother is driving over to pick me up, so that I can pick up my car. They can't find a problem. My OH spent quite some time yesterday, refusing to take it back, but they say the car is behaving and there is nothing on the diagnostic or computer readings. They also say that by recharging the small engine battery etc. the AA man had cleared all the readings !!! If the car won't start again in the future we are to get the AA to transport our car, without touching anything, so that they can see what is happening for themselves. So very annoying. I won't be travelling far in it !!!!
Margo, I guess you have an unhappy and tired OH, this morning, after the Spurs football result last night.
Good morning all sorry I am not posting very often. Thanks for all your support which as usual is such a help. Trying to be positive but it is difficult and must admit there are times when I feel so worried and also frightened. Consequently mood swings occur much of the time.
Very foggy start again this morning and it is taking longer to clear today. I insisted OH went to his football match last evening and he had a very foggy drive back from Southampton. He usually goes from Bournemouth but buses were replacing trains from Southampton to Bournemouth so he had decided to go from Southampton. He got home just before 2am and I was so relieved to see him to see him home safe. Neither Billie or I could settle so we had a very extended play session.
OG so so pleased to see more posts from you.
Rita thanks for your photos. So impressed with your lemon tree and also the olive tree.
Heather you have certainly made me smile with your posts during the week, so humorous. Enjoy your time with your family.
Brenda OH definitely not happy, said the team were just dire and even saying what a waste of time. From that comment they must have been bad. Another manager likely to be sacked. He is not too tired as he has only just gone to work. Pleased that he went later though because of the fog situation. there is another match on Sunday and I will insist he goes. Just hope it will be a better result. It is a 4pm kick off so it will not be such a late night for him.
Sorry that the situation with your car has not been solved. Can well understand you are not going to feel too confident about driving.
Annette and diane thanks for thinking of me.
Sorry I have not made many individual replies, will try to keep more up to date.
Have a good day all and take care.
MARGO Its good just to hear from you and know that you are enjoying the chat. I'm hopeless at replies, always manage to leave people out and if I can be forgiven, you most certainly can :-))
BRENDA What a pain about the car, can quite see why you won't be happy to go very far just now.
Off to Elgin now, have decided to get a train after all. MY OH keeps on mentioning the Free (pensioners) Bus but I have no patience whatsoever these days and the bus journey takes more than twice as long.
Regards to all.
A misty, moisty morning (remember the rhyme?), so not much gardening: just planted our new purchases. Also remembered we are out early evening, so having to have main meal for lunch (it's in the oven). Won't affect J as he will also be out early, for church band practice.
HEATHER and ANNETTE - enjoy family times. BRENDA - sorry about the car - most unsatisfactory. Everyone else - best wishes.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
