Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.
The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.
In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel.
In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.
In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel.
I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!
You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.
RITA- If you can grow lemons on the Black Isle, surely I can do it in our conservatory in Inverness!! Brilliant. Did you buy the plant locally?
OG- I love sage, sadly OH doesn't. We are so incompatible in some ways. I don't really know why we have a herb bed--
The babysitting trip to Elgin has grown into lunch for eight on Saturday! Eldest daughter, husband and their daughter are collecting my OH and bringing him through. Lunch booked in Toscana, my credit card is flexing it's muscles as we speak!
Crossed again BRENDA!!
I hate all sporty things. In fact my OH and I are quite incompatible, thinking about it!
Heather - My son gave me my Lemon Tree some years ago, he had it sent from some citrus nursery. It goes outside against a sunny wall once the danger of frost is past and so does the olive tree, but they are actually inside for eight months of the year. Down south, they could have a much longer time outdoors. I enjoy growing them though, a little touch of the Mediterranean in Muir of Ord!
RITA - how wonderful to grow your own Lemons and Olives! I hope you like Mediterranean food!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
RITA We have a grape vine semi covered and last year loads of grapes. I will look for a lemon tree, isn't it marvellous, people are usually so surprised that we can grow these things in the Highlands! We might soon be in competition with ANNETTE.
Ha ha, OG but think about lemon curd and lemon meringue pies- yum yum! I like olives but OH, well, I think you know what I am going to say.
Heather - re Annette, yes, I have thought of trying an orange Tree!
Linda is enjoying herself. Weather is picking up but windy. She texted for news of Margo's test results.
I think Margo will be watching the Spurs match this evening.
Here is the whole debate with the voters listed at the end
BRENDA please give Linda my kindest and hope that she has a great holiday. So typically thoughtful of her to enquire about MARGO.
