Woo Hoo! It would be so wonderful if the Suffolk sighting was Blue YD. Well, either of them - it could easily be the same bird.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Clare the first one is too early but the last one is a distinct possibility. We await the next tracking data.
Any osprey in this part of Suffolk is great - Bawdsey is very close to me.

If Blue YD kept on at 27Kmph, after 1pm GMT, 171 Km from last fix near Dunkirk to Dunwich, on the same bearing would take 6.5 hours, equals 7.30pm GMT to reach land fall. So 8.30pm BST arrival. Sighting was at 6.30pm, I assume BST. So did he travel faster than 27Kmph, or are SWT reporting in BST?
It is quite a concidence, if one makes these assumptions, but as Alan says, the next update on GE will reveal all.
