Birdies LG DU update.
Cirrus,
Thus far there are 4 males at Rutland (& 7 Females plus 24(10) now at Dyfi). 5R(04) is the only male overdue as the other males all arrived after this date in 2013.
PS Blue XD was back on 5th April last year so not yet officially late compared to last year!!
Blue XD: At least we have an idea of where he is this year!

Vespa we have no idea when Blue XD got back do we - we only know that he came to LG on 5th April. In 2012 he returned to LG on 28th March. I am not sure that we have any idea of when he gets to his own nest. Unless somebody has records he could well be a late returner also.
However, I am less convinced now about 5R returning particularly if he is always back by end of March, if he set off on time, surely he would have missed the bad weather as others have.
It's somewhat off topic for Rutland, however.. Latest on Blue XD
April 4, 2014 Still stuck by poor weather This morning Blue XD moved 10 km west to the La Chapelle Erbree Reservoir and perched on varios trees nearby – waiting for the weather to improve. Light winds but periods of heavy cloud and rain
It could be that others are also being held up by the weather.

Either 3(09) or 11(10) is back
Thanks Vespa. I wish they would just say in their blog who is back :-)
Is 06(09) back? I've missed reading about his return.
I'm really worried now about 5R, like you say Lmac if he had left as normal he would have missed the weather :(

Karen: My list is certainly not full-proof, but I don't have 06(09) on my list as a returnee.
Hi Karen,
Not that I'm aware of, I think there are 11 that we know of plus the extra male that was one of last years breeders. It obviously isn't 5R(04) so it must be 03(09) or 11(10) as 03(97) & 01(09) are already back.
Sheila, Vespa - thanks. Rutland can be so difficult to keep up with :-)
Edit: removed text as confused. Clear now :-)
