I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Just read on FB that a wildlife rehab centre in Delta BC called O.W.L has asked for permission to facilitate a rescue of chick, info was posted seven hours ago!
Edit: X-post !

"Hello Everyone,
I am a volunteer at O.W.L. Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society in Delta BC. As of this afternoon we have been communicating with Conservation Officers and the Nelson Hydro Company to facilitate a rescue of this poor chick. We have had great success rehabilitating Osprey at our facility. We are aware that time is of the essence, and are moving as quickly as we are able. Let's hope little Nel can hang on a little longer as we try to put it all together"
I noticed the chick move a few minutes ago so now we will just have to wait and see - everything crossed for wee Nel
Thank you Granny Smith. I'm on a mobile did try to find info on Hancock but too many screenshots. So I take it putting fish directly on the best wasn't successful?
Starling I read the pages on Hancock this morning and whilst they switched the cam off and Nellie took off there was no fish on the nest when cam came back. Maybe something went wrong with the plan or perhaps they thought Nellie may stay away too long at dark o'clock and cooling temperature.
The reality is that Nellie has given up. I am not sure we have ever seen that happen before.
Tiger Signature
I agree Tiger. A huge huge ask to expect a single bird to do it alone. A big thank you to those who tried to save Nellie's little family. If Nel is still with us in the morning I think her little body will be in the process of shutdown and her removal will be just a bit of stress to far to save her.
Just looked and wee Nel is moving under Nellie. Just hope Nellie starts to feed herself if they manage to rescue Nel
