I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Thank you so much KEITH and CHOCO....hopefully now a contiuing successful nest No wonder everybody is so excited this year
Just read the blogs and I see that it was a different male last year as he was unringed
Morning all. Nelson Hydro switched cam off at 730pm their time last night to swap fish as they believe other stuff was now rotten. Nellie went to platform after they left but didnt bring a fish back. It was by that time dark there. Hopefully morning for them will bring fish. They are apparently doing a delivery in the morning also.
Latest from Caerlaverock: Both the chicks are female, in great condition and ringed Blue FK2 and FK3.
Thanks Karen. There appears to be a huge number of females this year. Blue 24 had better look out! From the ringings at Glaslyn, RW Site B, LG and now Caerlaverock I think there were eight females and only two males.

I understand that the osprey chicks at Threave Castle have been ringed. I don't know when this was done. A male and a female: Blue CB0 and Blue CX1. I am assuming that CB0 is the male.
Apparently Threave will be Tweeting about it soon Sheila

Mixed news from Esthwaite:
"
A bit of bad news I am afraid to say. There is rumour that the birds on the platform have stopped using this as a nest sight. We have no way of seeing into the nest, but will keep you all posted.
The birds however are still feeding on the lake and the other nest sight is still occupied, so I have been informed!"
Very sad news Alan, but given that in their previous post they said
Come for a fun day out at Esthwaite Water where you can bring the family and enjoy the peace and tranquility and see the wildlife on the lake. Why not take one of our Osprey Safari's. This is a motorised boat ride so you can get up close and personal with our resident Osprey's (not too close though) as they fish the lake to support their chicks.
I wonder whether there has been too much disturbance too close to the nest.
More sad news as was suspected would happen even although they tried to convince us otherwise little Tag has lost his battle against hunger, dehydration etc etc. He passed away early this morning. Wonder what the mods line will be today....
