I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
The male osprey has been busy nestorising this morning, no sign of the female.
He's been fending off intruders, I wonder if one of them at least was this crow, who took over nestorising when our male went for more materials - you'd think the crow had been born to it!

Thanks SCYLLA That's lovely I feel sorry for the crow though All that effort and no use to him/her

The Sanibel nestcam since yesterday morning:
Sanibel cam back up and running. Nest looks rather forlorn however :(
Male was on the Sanibel nest yesterday when I looked.
Lowry thanks for that, hopefully relations are progressing positively for Belle and her Beau.
Lmac, empty nest today when i've looked will look again later.Hoping for better things there this season.
Yes Lowry and LMac, hope a better season for Sanibel this year, and also Dunedin too. Glad the cam is back up and running again.
EDIT: Just looked and its an empty nest.

Crow on the Sanibel nest a while ago.
CROWS:
A crow brought some melon (?) peel and buried it in the soft nest material:
In the afternoon, paper (?) floated down from above (dropped by a crow?). You won't be able to tell what happens at the end - but a crow flies in from the right and lands on the end of the stick sticking out over the side, and it flips up in the crows face, crow got a shock ;-)
Early in the morning, the regular male brought nest material, female not seen, no further nest visits all day:
