I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......

Thank you SUE That is VERY helpful, as well as good news
Thanks for these updates, I had missed seeing the latest update from Aberfoyle! Fantastic to hear about the nest in Powys ;)

CHLOE, SUE C and HILARY J thank you so much for all the information you provided. It is fascinating to read how much work is being done very quietly and to see the obvious success as the osprey numbers increase.

If I have understood correctly, then the chicks must all be female....a lot darker than male....but both sexes have light heads
I did a little clip - as you might expect ;-D But the cam is like the new Carnyx one, you have to keep clicking Play button to keep it going, so I'm now trying to download the stream. I thought maybe this should go in Wildlife on the Web, but seein' as you've posted here, PATILY...

IMHO - they might be too young yet to show their adult plumage. The males are a silver grey with black wing tips, and you are quite right in saying that the females are dark brown. This link is a good guide.
