I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Thanks Clare. I was just pleased to know it got back safely to its home!

Ive been watching SWF Eagle nest. The chicks have just endured three days of torrential rain and colder weather - I wonder if this has something to do with e3 death. She was never covered as she was too big to get under parent until that point she was a feisty healthy bird
It is heart breaking about E3 I've been watching this nest again since the eggs were laid, I was worried about E4 but the poor thing did comfort the sick bird in its last hours also one of the parents has been laid close to the dead chick. needless to say I've spent most of today in tears! Osprey season not yet begun and still coming to terms with the recent loss of two last month.

Does anyone know what is happening at Sanibel? I never see an Osprey but the nesting material seems to increase every day
Hi, There is a pair on the nest at the moment. This time of day sems to be best to catch them there, though I do not watch all the time. The male has been a regular for a few weeks, and the female arrived maybe two weeks ago? and they defend the nest. Often not there though, and there are several crows that come and dig around in the nest too!
On the Sanibel nest, the male has just brought the female a fish tail. Good sign!
Thanks ChrissyB. sorry that it is not Belle but obviously wasn't meant to be - hope this two are successful whoever they are.
I am not sure who the recent pair are, Scylla had a pair down as Iceman and Frida on the 14th Jan, but these may not be the same ones. I think the male has a different patch on the back of his head to the one in Scylla's video. Not sure though.
Hope Scylla is OK, as not been on here since then?
Glaslyn update:
"Protection site update.
All the electrical work at the protection site was completed last weekend. Everything is in order and ready for the cameras and associated equipment to be installed on Mon/ Tues next week.
The nest will be checked at the same time by tree climbers.
This will be subject to weather conditions at the time.
The new framework that will support the photo voltaic panels is currently under construction. Thank you to Gwyn and Buckley.
Planned work is on target and all we need now is reasonable weather."
