I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Aww thank you Granny Smith, good to see Nel doing so well. Do we know anything about the foster mum ie why is she there?

Starling this was written on their website but I can't find anything specific on foster mum. Good to see Nel looking healthier!
Moving day!
After being weighed today, Nel the Osprey, along with her Foster Mom, were moved to an outside enclosure. There, they both can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. There is lots of room to move around, now that little Nel is walking about. What is really cool, is we have witnessed the Foster Mom tossing Nel some trout bits from her own whole trout. What a good Mom. So, all is well here at O.W.L.
The eldest chick at Sandpoint which had not been well jumped off the nest about two hours ago. Garnet as they are called has been rescued.
Tiger Signature
Yes they sprang into action very quickly. I do hope they can sort out the respiratory problem, whatever is causing it.

Some Fantastic News out of Tweed Valley.
Many of you who have in the past followed Tweed Valley may remember the rescue of an injured bird BLUE LT in 2011.
At the time BLUE LT was a 2 Year Old returning to Scotland for the first time. After being rescued Blue LT was taken into rehabilitation at South of Scotland Wildlife Hospital for two weeks beore being released.
Well a great ending as he made it to Africa and has been spotted on the main nest at TV with an unringed female.

TWEED VALLEY REPORT IN 2011 OF INJURED BLUE LT
Also in September 2011 TV archives there is a video of his release and further reports.
Great story.
There is a blog and video of his release from 15 September 2011
Tony and Tricia had big smiles on their faces as he flew strongly off - I bet they are smiling now.
Hope Nel will fly OK and can be released with an ending like this one.
