I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Aberfoyle latest:
"It's a boy and a girl! We ringed Katrine and Drunkie's chicks yesterday and put a satellite tracker on the young male. Unfortunately there wasn't time to check on Arklet's nest, so we're hoping to visit it today...but it's raining heavily at the moment. Fingers crossed it lets off soon."
Its a heartbreaking situation and I hope resolved shortly for Nellie's sake as she is important to survive. I also hope the chick is rescued.
Alan great news. Drunkie is rather special having managed to raise two families thus far.
Well little Nel has more courage and stamina than I gave her credit for. She is up and shouting her head off in mums face who is lying in nest bowl. Clearly thinks she should have been out fishing some time ago.
There were two very young orphaned ospreys translocated to Rutland in 2005. See Rutland 2005
Tiger Signature
I imagine they were a bit older than Nel though Tiger.

Yes I understand that they were older but still some of the youngest chicks ever fed in captivity.

Cam now off at Nelson. Final fish delivery or rescue??? Just heading north so will have to wait a few hours to find out.
Lmac, hope you enjoy LG! Nel was still calling shortly before they turned off the cam so fingers crossed for both of them.
