I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Whoever it is, is now tucking into the fish on the edge of the nest. Rain is pouring and the wind and rain are making horrible noises on the mic Oh dear.

Starling - this is all so very sad. I had surmised earlier the chicks were dead and I believe this is the male on the nest just now eating the fish. So what on earth has happened to the female - where is she?
I see Tweed Valley has just posted a new blog but no mention of the current situation!!!
The Tweed Valley camera has been moving and I can hear voices. Are there people at the nest?? Perhaps searching, don't know but at least this makes me think Tweed valley are now on top of the situation and hopefully we will hear something from them soon.
Thanks Karen, I can't get the cam at all now.

Karen, do you have any info on when the female was last seen?
Starling, (if Karen doesn't mind!)I understand that the female was seen feeding the osplets on Thursday morning just after 10.00hrs. The chicks weren't moving much mid afternoon on Thursday.
Thanks Sheila - so looks like something has happened to her :(
Is the female a regular returner to tweed valley.
I think she is Lmac
It is unusual that this nest fails with such an established pairing and is normally a three in the nest even in inclement conditions.
I had a look at the nest before I went out and saw the male on the perch and then on the nest with a fish but ignored the chicks who to me appeared dead. I took a Snip with the intention of asking did anyone think this was strange but as I come in you have answered my questions before I ask.
Earlier Today - White SS appears to be staring at the chicks but ignored them.
I wonder if the female realises her chicks are dead and has gone away for a few days as often happens and she maybe OK or whether something has happened to her.
