I have just had a look at Sanibel cam and I see an Osprey has arrived. No idea who it is - is it Ripply from last year or a new bird. I remember last year finding a facebook/blog page about this nest but for the life of me can't remember what it was so can't compare images from last season, so if anyone else can remember......
Mary, Im nearly sure that was the male that brought half eaten fish he didnt feed them, the female was underneath the nest on the wall eating a fish of her own then when she returned to the nest she fed them. Poor Dad looked a bit bewildered !!
Things have been quite lively in the Foret d'Orleans on the Loire, as reported on the blog of the Etang du Ravoir
At the weekend, the long term female of the observatory nest, Orange 02, returned.
The spanish-ringed female "Panchita", who had seemingly been planning a takeover of the Ravoir nest, has returned to the nest nearby where she bred for the first time last year.
Both are now awaiting their mates, with other birds also returning.

LOL Karen, I wasn't watching continually as faffing about with photos of them. Thanks for the explanation, worrying unduly for nothing.

Mary, thanks for the news about the female being back at SML.
Hey Scylla, nice to see back on here.
I see after Sanibel posting mid February that nest was unsuccessful again this year there are two Ospreys on it, one of whom looks not unlike our Belle from last year.
:-) yay - lovely to see thanks mary GK
I am sure that is Belle at Sanibel it is just like her - the female has stood for the last hour shouting her head off just like Belle used to do and is getting completely ignored. no volume but you can see.
