Good morning, all, and welcome to the new month's thread. I imagine we'll have to wait and see whether Glesni has actually gone - if she has, she can look back on a season where she has every right to feel very proud of herself!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Peace reigns at last although she seems to be finding it tough going with this fish. One of the girls on the perch. Copyright dop.

I wondered if this behaviour might be a way for Monty to assess their nutritional state, as migration time approaches. If this is done from the level and frequency of begging calls (the usual method for parent birds) then he has a bit of work still to do.
Mind you, Paul has just said that he wouldn't eat his hat if he was wrong.
Not sure if I agree that all male opreys are that conscientious.....

Something taken her attention below
After this she had a preen and then flew off
Clarach sitting on the end of the perch looking all grown up and serene

She has flown to the T perch with it but is having a few problems balancing with it plus the fact the poor fish is still alive......I think she's shouting at Cerist now but can't see because camera zoomed in..just starting to eat, grunbling all the time
I can't watch anymore as the fish still keeps flapping its tail Not sure if the poor creature is still alive or what?????????????
