Good morning, all, and welcome to the new month's thread. I imagine we'll have to wait and see whether Glesni has actually gone - if she has, she can look back on a season where she has every right to feel very proud of herself!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
It was all a bit out of focus, possibly because the cam was about to change to b/w.
IMAGICAT
So glad you captured the scene, Scylla - just amazing how Monty manages to catch a flounder (which must be hard to see in the best of light!) when it is almost dark. Good job Glesni didn't have Nora's aversion to flounders - hope Glesni has had fair winds and weather for the start of her migration :-)

Thinking of Glesni :-*
Just recovered from a black screen to find a juvie prancing on the nest. Didn't stay long.
Great video, Scylla - perhaps she was listening to some suitable punk rock in her head???
This has been the picture for some time - I think that's Monty on the T-post:

A rather damp looking Monty sits with one of his beautiful offspring:
She's now flown to the nest where she's whimpering for food rather plaintively.
Both girls are on the nest now. The subtle food calling continues:
Monty is looking quite serene in spite of one of the girl's continuous calling
Now both girls are on the nest calling for breakfast!
Hi, Birdsong!
