HAPPY NEW WEEK AND NEW MONTH!
Last week's Weekly Chat thread is HERE. The code for this week's Weekly Chat thread is 010913 (in case you ever want to find it from the search box).
Morning all!
Limpy: Thanks a bunch for the story and pix of Over Exposed. I couldn't locate the site on Google Earth until I googled "OverExposed crash site" and found http://www.jarrelook.co.uk/Urbex/B29%20crash%20site/B29%20site.htmone which had a "Fly me there!" link that opened the location on GE. Brilliant. But what a sad tale - one of many from those days. I wonder if visitors have taken any pieces of the wreckage. (Have no idea what happened with that link!)
BrendaH: Ouch! I felt that whack on the head. On the ranch where my daughter lives, there's a cable holding a power pole in place close to a pathway near the house and she's taped yellow "caution" tape on it at head level. Might be worth a call to the local council; they could at least move the trash bin.
George: Thanks for the heads up.
Must get organized - at least I have shoes on, which tends to make me feel officially "up and about." :-)

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Clare: Oh crikey. thanks a bunch. I really screwed up that post. Sorry MULBERRY! And by the way, the link doesn't work. I tried to do a "posh" link but that didn't work; then I edited that with the plain vanilla link, but that didn't work either. Grrrrr. I'll try to copy past it here again www.jarrelook.co.uk/.../B29%20site.htm
Sad news I'm afraid. Dillon has been put to sleep. The extra pain killers the vet gave us only worked for 24 hours then it was obvious he was in a lot of pain. A hard decision but the right one
It's an awful thing to watch someone you care about suffering - it may be the right decision but it really hurts. Our thoughts are with you, Dibnlib.
Evening everyone from what was a sunny day in Wales :) we went to Betws-y-coed, what a lovely place, then on to find another route to climb Snowdon tomorrow, weather permitting.
Always on the look out for Ospreys, seen a fair few buzzards though and Red Kites, oh and 1 huge cockerel walking along the roadside near Snowdon, very strange sight.
Annette- that was probably the first year I had heard About this great Osprey called Lady, I had only been watching the nest for about a week when she became ill, horroundous time. She really is amazing! I hope she's basking on a lovely African coastline resting up, she deserves it.
Mulberry- I like Brenda had not heard about this, terribly sad and thank you for making us aware.
Brenda- Sounds like your OH was lucky, that could have been very nasty, your right though how many more people could possibly do the same.
dibnlib: You must be so upset, but as you say, the right decision. Have you had a chance to read all the posts since you first told us the news? We were all so sad to hear about it.
Sorry to hear your bad news, but Dillon is at peace now.
dibnlib: So sorry to hear about Dillon: as fish says, he is at peace now. And you can tell yourselves what a wonderful life he had with you, which will in the future be full of good memories of times you spent together.
mulberry: I had heard of the plane crash but had forgotten the name of it: what a sad tale it is. And what dramatic pictures you posted.Such a forlorn looking place.
Annette: You are right about the shoes: I either go barefoot or wear slippers first thing in the morning, but as soon as I put on some shoes I feel ready for whatever is planned... I remember reading about the famous actress Beryl Reid saying once "I need to get the shoes right, and once I am wearing the proper shoes for the character I'm playing, the rest follows more easily." Its very true that some shoes make me feel more important and in charge of things!!
