This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.

Oighrig’s ring is Blue/white CF5

Caledonia
Hatched on 16th May 2012, fledged on 14th July and left Loch Garten on 19th August.
The travels of Caledonia and her sister Alba were first followed in this thread, now closed. Caledonia is the first juvenile osprey tracked from Loch Garten to settle in Europe; she has been living on the northern outskirts of Seville for nearly a year now.
Caledonia’s ring is Blue/White AA1, reading downwards. LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Caledonia & Alba.
Google Earth has not been updated yet but Oighrig seems to be in the exact same area where Alba spent some time. Alba's route is in white:
Another update from Mike (yesterday). Oighrig has spent most of his time on Saloum River delta in the Delta du Saloum NP. In the past week Breagha has been in a small area in the triangle formed by the small towns of Elinkin, Loudia Ouolof and Diantene. Caledonia has returned to her favoured area on the Rio Guadalquivir with just a short hop to the Rivera De Huelva where she spent Christmas Day.
The next update will be on 6 January as the RSPB servers are undergoing maintenance over the Saturday and Sunday. I hope all goes far better than last time!

Looks warm and calm there! A bit different to the UK right now!
Birdies LG DU update.
I know Mike, pouring of rain all morning here. I fancy sitting on that boat with my binoculars looking for Ospreys :-) will just have to dream it for now.
I just read the news about Caledonia & am absolutely gutted; Its so awful. I had just been thinking about whether she would come back this year. My thoughts go out to all involved. So so sorry. I'm in tears now, can't say anymore.
Best wishes

Noisette thank you for telling us about the NEW BLOG..... I am so sorry and can hardly type for the tears, we had so much hopes for Caledonia. I felt so excited at the thought of her returning this year. May her spirit be flying high, so distraught at her loss.
Such sad news,
Poor Caledonia, such sad news to hear about another loss.
