Weekly Chat, Sunday, February 28, 2010

Evening all. Wonderful rainbow over Santa Barbara this afternoon; more like April with heavy showers then sunshine.  Don't forget to check last week's chat for Tiger's link to the Roy Dennis site about a French osprey that's already completed its migration, and Patriciat's recommendations for places to eat in Grantown (for when we all go to visit OG's son!).   :-)

  • Hi All.   My day started with the delivery of a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my daughter. I found it very difficult to tell her she had got the wrong weekend for Mother's day !!  Anyhow we had a good laugh about it.

Wattle, Good to see you on line and you have survived your summer. Lovely to hear your good news but such a shame you cannot attend the wedding. I find it strange to say that it is also good news that yourself and AQ are having some rain, when we are so glad to have not seen any snow or rain for  5 days now.

Margobird, I just love real Italian food and we have a favourite Italian restaurant. Do enjoy yourself.

I caught sight of Hope last night. She was being very vocal, as usual, and is looking so cuddly but I was amazed at the size of her claws (so maybe not so cuddly).

The sun is shining, but clouds keep covering it and wind is cold.

  • Afternoon all from TI,

Wattle: 2 acres of garden. I have enough to do keeping my small patch under control.

Margobird : I am also watching the football today. In fact the Portsmouth game is on as I type. No goals so far and well into the second half. Will probably watch the Tottenham game later.

This morning LadyP and myself visited the Van Hage garden centre at the new Peterborough Garden Park. We had a nice walk round and some lunch. Very nicely laid out place.

Weather today is bright with some cloud and a cold wind. Temp 7.3c.

    ps Portsmouth have just scored.

  • New nest camera being set up at Lagoon 4 at Rutland Water. This was the territory of male osprey 32(05) which is my avatar at the moment.

  • Morning all. Late to bed; early to rise. It keeps happening.  Storm clouds approaching our way; should be nice and gray today and tomorrow.

Margobird: You need a laptop computer with headphones so you can sit with OH and still chat with us. Yes?  :-)

BrendaH;  Better flowers a week early than a week late, eh? We don't do Mother's Day here until May.

Alan: I've been Googling some of your garden center missions and they seem to have an awful lot of stuff under one roof. Lunch too!  I don't think we have anything comparable here.  Just went to the Peterborough website - love the idea of "complimentary lifestyle departments."  I could do a lot of $$$ damage at a place like that!   Sounds like the eagles aren't wasting any time and good to know the Rutland cam is going up - geez - just a matter of days before the LG cam will spring into action. Enjoy the footie.

Cat is nagging me for attention. Honestly. Cats!

  • Good aftertnoon Brenda H and enjoy your flowers even if they are a bit early!  Sun has deserted us a bit today and like you we have a fairy chilly wind but I think the sun is returning tomorrow but some cold nights up ahead.

Will enjoy our meal again and look foward to going to the Italian restuarant next time.Hope is just such a cutie now and now she is more active and forever trying to escape from Lily's clutches we get to see more of her  She is certainly a lively little bundle now.

    Have a good weekend.

    Margobird

  • Good afternoon Alan and thanks for the daily links and reports, you really keep us up to date with all things eagle and osprey.  Nice there is sound on some and I see there is still snow lying as well.

Portsmouth won 2-0 which is amazing considering the financial turmoil they are in but good luck to them.  Now I just want Tottenham to win for my OH and we will be in for a very happy evening.

Golden orb has deserted us today and it is dull with a fairly cold wind.  Believe we are going to get some really hard frosts over the next couple of nights but golden orb is due to return tomorrow hopefully.

    Have a good weekend.

    Margobird

  • Born to travel viideo amazing with a very important message for us all.

    Margobird

  • Caerann: Front page headline on this morning's Wall Street Journal (not given to hyperbole) states "Outlook Brightens for Jobless."  Hope it brightens quickly in Chicago. :-)

    Margobird: Go Tottenham!

  • Good afternoon dibnlib I have just ried to look into Lily but the cam is down at the moment.  Another way is to just as for Lily Black Bear cam in Google and that will give you the options.  I think it is the first one up.
