Not the best close-up of a Bittern ever, but my FIRST ever sighting and picture of a Bittern - in gorgeous evening light, stalking regally along the frozen reed bed edge opposite Public Hide. Really thrilled with this - it didn't just dart out and back, it gave us a grandstand view! Wednesday 5th December 2012.
