Visit 14.8.10

We had a briilaint visit yesterday (14.8.10), with the Reserve manager Michael. We cannot thank him enough, we had a great 3 hours on site.

Highlights were:

  • Hobby seen at very close quarters hawking the dragonflies
  • Juvenile Marsh Harriers seen regularly
  • 12 species of butterflies
  • Other birds: Common & Green Sandpipers, Little Egrets, Buzzard, Kestrel, Grey Heron, Cormorant, Teal, Mallard, Mute Swan, Coot, Moorhen
  • best of all, Michael's knowledge and attention given to us all in explaining all that was going on and planned for the future

    Thanks for the email, was a pleasure to take you all round.

    I'm pleased we had some great views of Langford's first marsh harrier chicks on the wing. Very impressed with Sam, Thomas and Morgan - wonderful enthusiasm for wildlife and very good I.D skills too!
