We received an Environment Agency flood alert for our area this morning, so please be aware that flooding on the reserve is possible.
If the alert is upgraded to a flood warning, or we see water rising near the entrance track or car park, we will need to close the reserve. This will be indicated on the flood warning signs along the entrance track.
Please check these signs carefully for current information and follow their instructions.
Thanks and best wishes,
Alison (Visitor and Publicity Officer)
RSPB Community Engagement Officer, Orkney
was wondering what the flooding is like at the moment? I was there a couple of days ago and water was flooding across the road from oxholme lake into the fields so couldnt get any further than that. Did see some nice aerial acrobatics from lots of Lapwings and Golden Plovers!
In reply to goosey:
Both Roadways either side of the busway stop flooded at 2.0pm saturday 2 feb
