And what a first visit! We entered the car park at 12:15pm yesterday and before we had the flask out a bittern rose at 12:20 immediately in front of us and flew majestically, despite the mobbing gull, round to our rear and appeared to descend towards Ferry Pond. Sandwiches consumed, we were then welcomed by a pair of bullfinches as we began our walk round Ferry Lagoon. So many birds and such a pleasant afternoon despite some poor weather and clinging mud. We will definitely be returning as we only scratched the surface! Well done the team here.
