on the blog I am now going to be adding sightings from saturdays and sundays every week. has anyone been to cliffe recently that has anything they would like to share?
My first pied wagtail at cliffe a fortnight ago as well as my best look at a short eared owl by flamingo pool ever. watched it for a full 5 minuted before a gang of ruthless balck headed gulls chased it off. look forward to hearing your stories...
That's funny, I went to cliffe fort with this other fella, Elliott?, and he also saw a pied wagtail. Cliffe Fort was very impressive, and unfortunately impossible to get into. Saw a hairy dragonfly and lapwing too.
Went to Cliffe Pools today and made a note of what we saw so here it is!
Little Egret (roughly 6), Long Tailed Tit, Wood Pidgeon, Coot, Lapwing, Oysertcatcher, Dunnock, Great Crested Grebe, Goldfinch, Blackbird, Redshank, Common Tern, Little Ringed Plover, Common Damselfly, Gatekeeper Butterfly, Holly Blue Butterfly and a Rabbit.
