Our Kestrels are now live on the Arne website! The female has been sitting on the eggs for 32 days so the first should hatch any time. She seems particularly restless today and sometimes you can even hear the chicks calling from the eggs. Who will be the first to see a hatched chick? It would be great to see everyones observations on this forum so we can keep updated with all the excitement! To see the webcam follow: http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/a/arne/webcam.aspx
still on the top of box
... and then there were two ...?!
It's now become a drop-in centre for kestrel delinquents. :-)
Laugh out load Dom! I think you might be right! At least we get to enjoy some of them for a while longer ...
maybe next year if u could why not put a camera as well so we can c the whole box including the top of the box because there is alot going on the top of box so please could u consider this
hmmm, thats a good idea, we'll definatley look into it.
Three there now. Oh and back to two, parents still doing well bringing back food, both to the fledged ones outside and the ones remaining in the box. That was a field vole and then a common lizard...
Three!
Then 'poof' he was gone. Two again. Oh what fun!
So we can't really tell whether all 4 have taken a test flight or not can we? Is there definitely one which has not left and returned yet?
A couple of photos from a different vantage point yesterday afternoon:

I'm 99.999999 recurring % sure that one of them has not flown yet. The chap who is on the right of the screen as I type. He was the smallest and the one with the most down still left, so probably the last to hatch...
A vole on a stick might do the tricK? Eeewwwwww, did I really say that? I'm going to go to hell!
