Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Oo - they're back for another year!
Some very loud squawking from Mrs Kestrel on the nest first thing this morning. No visible evidence of Mr Kestrel but he must have heard her from a mile away.
Have you turned the video resolution down this year to save a little cash Michael? Also - check your spelling on "kestrel" in the forum thread title. ;-)
He can't help having a stutter Dom - must be working too hard juggling all his 'hats' lol !!

haha - don't know what you mean spelling looks fine to me.
yes Dom resolution not as good as last year - the camera is another year older! We wil see if we can do anything to improve the image but won't be able to do anything with the actual camera.
Age shouldn't affect resolution should it? Does the lens / sensor need cleaning?
OOooooo, 5 eggs! Brilliant.
Amazing!!
Chrisrobs well snapped - the 5 eggs!
Hi to everyone:-)
11.25 Mrs is sitting on eggs and all is peaceful.
13.46 looking in to see Mrs settled on the eggs
Appx 14.15 here's Mrs having a good preen, really tugging at those wing feathers. She then settles back on the eggs.
Appx 14.25 Mrs moves to the 'window' to continue preening. She doesn't leave the eggs long and quickly returns to incubate.
