Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Thanks Mims for the lovely vids of yesterday - just took this pic of Mrs ArneK incubating & waiting for her to move to see if any more eggs....
Good morning everyone:-)
Lovely pic of Mrs Wendy. She's too quick for me this am. I just looked in now to see her snuggling the eggs underneath, very stealthily lol and only glimpsed one disappearing under her. Never mind, maybe later we can count them:-)
12.17 Here's Mrs with her tail up again. I think, looking at it, that this isn't to do with laying but the closeness of the walls to her tail. She's keeping her tail from getting squashed methinks.
13.21 and Mrs has turned around now to a more comfy position.
Appx 13.26 and I heard a noise on the cam, only to miss a sight of the eggs again lol. A little clip to follow...
Wasn't sure whether to bother with this clip as a pic would do. But here you are anyway...she's lovely at any rate, and makes me jump when she shouts out.
14.57 Beautiful tail (and still no glimpse of all the eggs lol)
appx 15.28 Mrs has a really good preen in the 'window'. She quickly returns to incubate. Short clip to follow.
...and here it is. Got to go now so happy watching everyone:-)
About 16.15 Mrs K suddenly leapt up & anxiously looked out of window bleating furiously & Mr K brought her some food - she went off to eat it & he settled down on eggs (still looks to be three) but he was only there for a minute when he jumped up & disappeared leaving eggs uncovered again, just like yesterday!!
