Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
13.57 the chicks are near the front now, lovely view of them. A fly has landed on the rim but no one is interested. Little clip to follow...
Here's a little clip of the chicks relaxing at the front...fly buzzing around but thankfully lives another day lol
Looked in appx an hour ago and missed a drop off. Then saw a chick knocking a meal back, managed to get a short clip of the meal disappearing fast lol. the chick then appears to start on its sibling for pud but soon realises. It ends with the chick moving forward and having a wing stretch.
Don't they look brilliant now! So much down and feathers, looks like there's about a dozen of them in there at the moment :-)
Can only see 3 at the moment - but not panicking!
All OK just counted 4 heads - good job I wasn't panicking :-)
They do a very good 'disappearing act' at times!
Big commotion, missed the food parcel arriving, just caught a glimpse of possibly a vole but all being tucked into in the back corner in the dark.
Not looked in since they were white bundles of fluff - shocked to see how quickly they've grown! Looking good, though :-)
