Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Good afternoon everyone:-)
Looked in and around 11.20 the female came to the nest. She stood on the edge giving herself a really good preen before settling on the egg.
Thanks Michael!

It's great that the cam is back. But I was wondering why the resolution is poor compared to last year, and if it may be improved?
At around 12.45, female at the 'window', lovely face...
Lol Alan, I expect she's pondering on voles/snakes/rats etc
Probably thinking "will be glad to sit on eggs & have a rest & my meals served up on a gold platter" lol - Hi all, lovely to have this cam back even with the poor res!!
Hi Wendy:-)) Which reminds me, I must catch up on your thread when I have a minute. So glad your kestrels are doing well:-)
Going off now. The female has spent long periods in the 'window' looking out, preening on occasion.
Thanks so much for your captures and vids mims - am off on hols later this week so nice to know will be able to catch up when back :-) Fingers crossed all goes well again this year. Just wish we could find a mate for the Barn Owl all on its own :-(
