Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Missed the drop off or what it was but all being fed delicately by Mum :-)
Missed what it is (again!) but all hungry chicks being fed - gosh they do have their hands full Mr & Mrs :-)
Chicks being fed - sunlight partly in the box at the moment (don't usually watch this early! but will be out all day :-)
Keep missing the drop off but whatever it is has its tail still moving underneath Mr/Mrs K's foot!
Thanks for earlier comments P - Mrs AK tends to block view of what she's feeding to chicks doesn't she? ... Took pic earlier but it has vanished into the ether!!! ..... Found it...
Just grabbed this one of her posing behind a bundle of chicks...
Love it that we are able to see into this nest (wish I had nestcam for my Kestrels here!) Mrs AK looks so serene & caring!!

Lovely capture Wendy, just looked in and all chicks on their own - won't panic yet!
How many chicks do you have at home this year?
No, definitely not panicking yet!
See, Mum back, all's well and knew there was no need to panic :-) !
Dad just flew in and Mum shot out straight away but didn't seem to be any food brought in though, then Dad flew off as well.
Mum just brought in large food parcel but just couldn't make out what - not sure if it was feathery or fluffy but long legs! What a great Mum, was feeding chicks on one side then moved parcel over to the other side to make sure others were being fed :-)
