Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Here is the above mentioned clip. Still can't tell what the prey was, only that it wasn't a grass snake lol
Back now, thanks so much everyone for keeping us all up to date - very much appreciated :-)
Welcome back Pudweena - hope you enjoyed your hols!

I was wondering where you had got to Pudweena, hope you had a lovely time:-)
The cam seems to be down, only getting a whirly thing at the moment.
Thanks, lovely hols and saw Dippers for the first time which was fantastic. Spent ages watching one preening one day and another day watching a pair, only ever seen on TV before so brilliant :-)
The web cam is down at the moment - we have had a couple of power cuts this week and I was struggling to get it running again. - we always seem to be a bit prone to it out here - will try and get it working at the start of the week!
Back up and running!

Felt sorry for Mrs AK just now - she manages to look quite despondent...
Must be the weather - grim day!!
1347 shift change, Mr K didn't sit on the eggs long before getting bored. Anyone fancy having a bit of fun and guessing the date the first egg is going to hatch? I'm going for 27th May.
Jo T Always on the side of the feathered guy!
OK JoT, will go for 2 June :-)
