Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Hi Mims - thanks for the vids - haven't been able to watch yesterday or today so far, just snatching five minutes on tablet!

Mrs flies off around 14.43 and returns 14.50
17.15 Following a good preen and doing her nails, Mrs briefly flies off for a break. She returns a minute or so later and settles back on the eggs.
17.56 Mrs leaves for a break after a quick scratch at the 'window'
... and returns at 17.58, going straight back to the eggs.
Time to go now, so see you soon and happy watching everyone:-)
Good morning everyone:-)
This was appx 10.05: Mrs is either eating something with her back to us, or preening (I think the latter because there were no tugging movements) and she then settles on the eggs again.
I have heard the male nearby and it sounded like he landed on the box but was unable to get back to snap it (was recording elsewhere):-( This was around 11.50am
14.14 Mrs has been incubating for long periods. Just now she had a little preen. Other than that she has changed position several times. I haven't seen her eating on look ins.
Appx 14.42 Mrs flies off for a couple of minutes.
