Osprey at Blashford Lakes

Some visitors to the reserve yesterday afternoon had a brilliant treat in store for them as they sat watching from the Goosander hide. What at first was passed off for a cormorant on the horizon flew right round to land on one of the perches in front of the hide. An osprey! The bird had just successfully caught a fish and was resting, but not for long as the gulls soon started mobbing it and away it flew. Gary Prescott came in to the Centre this morning to share these fantastic photos he had taken. http://blashfordlakes.wordpress.com/
