Hello All,
I seem to remember you guys had a Dutch rung Spoonbill staying with you last Autumn/Winter. Well anyway to keep the story short up here in Elmley Kent we have had a Dutch rung Spoonbill , it might be interesting to see if it makes it way down to Poole.
I have followed the blogs all year and hope to see you soon.
All the best
RR.
Thanks for that, we will certainly keep an eye out for this one!
A better view of the Flying Dutchman which has not been seen lately at Elmley which may turn up around Poole.
Cheers
No ringed birds spotted among the 8 in Poole Harbour on Friday:
Dom, why are all your photos so rubbish !!!!!!
Joking of course. It's a fantastic photo ;- )
It was a blimmin miserable afternoon actually but as the tide came in it produced a nice contrasting background. :-)
There were 2 ringed spoonbills among the 25 (!) birds in the Middlebere Channel today - one with a yellow ring on each leg (the Dutchman possibly?) and one with a pale blue ring on its right leg. Photos to follow...
well spotted Dom..
Capturing the Light with an original perspective displayed in every Photograph..perhaps
Here they are:
Top bird appears to have 2 pale yellow rings on its right leg.
Bottom bird appears to have pink, yellow, pale green and green rings on its right leg, and yellow, pale blue and blue rings on its left leg! Very jaunty.
so the 1 in the foreground is the flying dutchman?..
