In June we visited for the first time the Arne Nature reserve and the surrounding area. We stayed at lovely Middlebere Farm inmidst the Stoborough Heath and it was our starting point for a lot of beautiful and interesting walks at different times of the day. My favourites were the evening walks at nightfall when you get quite near to foxes and deer. There were a few nice bird hides very near, with a great view over the wetlands.
Besides we experienced that RSPB staff not only have a heart for birds. When we were walking back to Middlebere Farm, threatened by rain, two very nice RSPB guys gave us a ride. Thanks a lot!
Did you see barn owls out at Middlebere Farm antje?
Actually we saw an owl flying by, but it was already too dark to be sure.
I was told earlier in the year Dom..that the Barn Owls are in the Barn behind the NT Cottages at Middlebere every year
