Five reasons to visit RSPB Scotland Loch Leven

Whether you're looking to go wild in nature or just want to enjoy the view with a delicious lunch, Loch Leven has something for everyone. Here are our top five reasons to visit.

The hides provide the perfect vantage point for birdwatching over the loch itself. There is loads to see at any time of year, but autumn is arguably the best time, as thousands of ducks, geese and swans arrive from Iceland.

Loch Leven is a nature reserve for everyone and we're proud to offer mobility scooters, an all-terrain wheelchair and an accessible, Changing Places toilet, complete with hoist and shower.

Our café is the perfect place to fuel up for your wildlife adventure, or put your feet up afterwards. Most of the food is organic and locally-sourced, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. Don't forget to try the scones!

The range of habitats and wildlife at Loch Leven is incredible! Within a few minutes walk of the car park, you can find yourself birdwatching along a forest trail, crawling amongst butterflies in a wildflower meadow or gazing out over the largest lowland loch in Scotland.

Last but certainly not least, check out this view!
