Way back in August I had 4 visits from a female sparrowhawk, and nothing since. This afternoon, very late on, this beauty arrived and sat in next door's apple tree for a good 20 minutes. As one might expect, he had his back to me the whole time. However, as I was leaning through the bedroom window by a thread, I decided to whistle. Yeah!! He heard and turned his head.
He spied a potential meal and went bottoms up, flashing a lot of orange and white, but decided better of it (I think it was next door's collie dog). He then settled down for a nap, all fluffed up like a cuddly teddy.
It was almost dark by this time and I have struggled to get a decent photo. If anyone can do anything with these pictures for me, please feel free.

It's sunny (yes I said sunny!) here at the moment so I only have the usual couple of dozen tits all over the place, but GSW came a couple of minutes ago. I haven't seen him for a few days:

That is a brilliant close up of your woody. Does he eat the fatcake or was he just using the feeder as a resting place?
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

Ha Ha Sparrow, you have got plenty of time to think !!
This morning my Redpoll turned in to two Redpolls. Again, they were with the goldies. No photo sadly as me and my camera were in different rooms and they didn't stay long enough for me to sort myself out.
That must have been a lovely sight for you Sparrow. Just seeing and observing the birds is such a joy and not to worry if you don't get a photograph.
That's great news Sparrow, I am sure they be back again tomorrow or the day after giving you a photo opportunity.
