Hi it has just started to snow here and a large flock of goldfinchs has just landed in the tree there must be about 50 of them, my feeder are full up with goldfinchs, with loads waitingfor they turn!
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
WOW! That is a most impressive sight. It started snowing here about 8.30 a.m. and is still doing it (although not as much as earlier) so it looks as though it is moving north. I hope your goldfinches don't follow it or Buzzard will have his hands full again LOL (Buzzard is the Goldfinch King, Janet - in case you wondered. He's got nearly all mine and about half of Sparrow's [grin] ).
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
ok Squirrel if thats the case look out Buzzard because here they come!!
When they have all had a feed that is! :-)
Wow that's a lot of Goldfinches! The most I've ever had here is 4, lol!
My goodness, it will cost you a small fortune to keep that lot fed!! Be very careful of Buzzard - he tried to get some more of mine recently!!!! LOL. Poor Buzzard. He's never going to live this down.
Last week I had a visitation. I counted 17 on my feeders. That is the max I have seen, although there were 10 yesterday, and 7 today. If the snow does come again, they will disappear like they did last time.
Cheers, Linda.

I couldn't get them all in the photos the whole tree was covered in them, I thought it was a flock of starlings at first because there was so many of them, but they was all goldfinchs. I should of video them. dam! miss it!!
Has anyone seen a flock that size before?
Excellent Janet,. have said it before, but just love your garden. what spectacles you must get. throughout the day, brilliant. could you tell me where you got your perch/feeders for your plastic bottles. we have some, but not happy with them, they clog really easily, yours look like they could be a better option
