We went donw to Stranraer today.. Great day and lots to see although we didn't see anything out of the ordinary for this time of year. On way home we stopped at Cairnryan Bay for a quick scan along the tideline.
You know that way your scanning through all the waders and you do a doubletake cos there's something there that doesn't seem right. But its has its back to you. Then you think you have something quite rare then all of a sudden it turns around and stares you straight in the scope and you feel rather silly. It was a white Oystercatcher.
Really bizzare looking but totally accepted by all others .

Ok folks - when's best to see em? tide in or out?
This saturday I'm going back to the estuary and if it kills me will go mudding if I have to (oooh I loved this when I was a kid!) until I find one!
