Where have all our Birds Gone

We live in the lovely village of Folkingham in Lincolnshire and on the edge of the fens. By this time of year the garden is normally full of birds. Yet over the last couple of months they have all gone! Even the wood pigeons! So no blackbirds, thrushes, robins, finches, wrens, tits, sparrows, dunnocks, great spotted woodpeckers.... not a thing save for a few resident Jackdaws!

Is this the hand of avian flu at work, or is something else going on this year given the very unusual weather patterns we have experienced.

I would be very interested on peoples thoughts on this one.

I should add that we have not found any dead/ dying birds around the village. They just seem to have disappeared
