#WildCardiff Family Events this spring – guest blog by Richard Maiorano, RSPB Cymru Events Officer

With the days getting longer and the sunshine (hopefully) getting stronger, spring is a time when nature bursts into life! It’s a time to discover all that #WildCardiff has to offer and experience the bright spring glow of Cardiff’s parks with wild daffodils lining the paths for bees to enjoy the juicy nectar, as chiffchaffs sing from the treetops.

We’ve got a lots of events planned ready for you to spring into action and embark on a family adventure this spring…

RHS Flower Show Cardiff / Friday 7 – Sunday 9 April 10am – 5.30pm (4.30pm on Sunday) / Bute Park (RHS entry fees apply)
Explore our interactive wildlife friendly garden and go on a minibeast adventure through our giant bug hotel, with ants, centipedes and woodlice waiting to be found. With free family activities get ready to go exploring and discover a world of marvellous plants and creatures.

Easter Fun in Victoria Park / Sunday 16 April 2 – 4pm / Victoria Park Bandstand (£1 / Child)
Eggs, nests and art! Discover Victoria Park this spring and get creative with some Easter arts and crafts with the Community Park Ranger team in one of Cardiff’s most popular parks.

Monthly Nature Ramble / Saturday 22 April 10am – 12pm / Forest Farm (FREE)
Butterflies, bees and birds! Spring is an amazing time for birds, with migrants coming from far and wide to holiday in Wales. Discover flitting chiffchaffs, buzzing bumble bees and experience the unique song of the wood warbler in one of Cardiff’s hidden treasures.

Spring Flowers in Coed Y Felin / Saturday 22 April 10.30am / Coed Y Felin woods, Lisvane (FREE)
Explore the superb ancient woodland of Coed Y Felin and discover the amazing queen bees feasting on the nectar rich meadows. Nature is an adventure waiting to be had, so get out, get busy and go wild!
