How long have you been volunteering for RSPB Cymru?
Since October 2014
What made you want to volunteer with RSPB Cymru?
I really wanted to volunteer with the RSPB as it’s a major conservation charity which is what I am interested in. And I was also interested in the Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff project as I really wanted to get more involved in public engagement with environmental issues and conservation as I think this is really important.
What is your role title? And what do you do as part of this role?
Nature Interpreter, I work with children, but sometimes adults too, at events and school sessions getting them to participate in free nature related activities and get them excited about nature!
How many hours a week or month do you volunteer?
Up to 10 hours a month
Why do you think volunteering is important and would you recommend volunteering to your friends?
I think volunteering is really important because you have the chance to inspire and educate people about what’s around them. I would definitely recommend volunteering it’s a great way to get experience and you learn so much.
Because I really liked the sound of the Giving Nature a Home Project. I think it is a really good cause engaging children particularly in nature and is beneficial for the environment and the children who get involved.
