RSPB South Stack Visitor Centre has been awarded two Silver awards for Best Visitor Attraction and Best café by the Anglesey Tourism Awards. South Stack Café has become a safe haven for visitors, with top-notch customer service displayed by members of staff, as well as a variety of exceptional facilities available to the public. Along with the visitor centre, the Ellin’s Tower is the focal point of visitor attention, as it offers a platform to view wildlife and their surrounding habitats.
Wildlife is abundant at RSPB South Stack, especially during the spring and summer months. The reserve is home to an array of seabird activity, including their monumental nesting colonies that populate the cliff faces around the reserve. Visitors can enjoy witnessing species ranging from guillemots, razorbills and even puffins in their natural environment, in addition, peregrine falcons can been seen scanning the area on a regular basis.
The reserve charges no admission fees, and all profits made through the café and souvenir shop are plunged directly into conservation work. This includes maintaining the heathland and farmland in order to supply breeding choughs a place to nest, improving the visitor centre and Ellin’s Tower, and to stabilize the surrounding visitor paths and environments for wildlife at present and years to come.
