This weekend, sees the start of a 12-week roadshow where our team of reserve staff and volunteers will be at 12 key Tesco stores. This will start at Holyhead on 30 June and finish in Cardiff on 10 August.
This roadshow gives us the opportunity to share successes and conservation work that RSPB has been able to do because of the donation we have received from Tesco. Since the carrier bag levies came into force in October 2011, Tesco has nominated us as the charity to receive the funds so that monies collected goes back into environmental objectives.
So it will be busy 3 months for our teams as they cover the selected 12 Wales’ stores. This roadshow would not have been made possible without support of our teams and volunteers at RSPB South Stack, Conwy, Lake Vyrnwy and Newport Wetlands nature reserves, and our engagement teams at North Wales Moors Futurescapes. They will at their best, sharing their stories about all the wonderful programmes, activities and developments that the donation has helped deliver.
It has been quite an experience putting the plans together and working across the whole of RSPB to make this happen. A great many thanks to everybody!
To help them along, here is special film that says it all:
