Over the years we’ve done a few things to raise funds for RSPB Cymru, but nothing mega.  At the most there was only six or seven of us, now there is only four, but we all care about nature, and  about educating the younger generation, getting them interested in all things 'great and small', they are the conservationists of tomorrow at the end of the day!

Everyone has a talent, we make cards, book marks, quizzes, framed photographs of the reserve, make jams, marmalade, grow plants, run a 'pre loved' book stall, we've arranged one or two wildlife talks, made little wooden log feeders with holes (we all know someone who will drill the holes) to fill with a fat cake recipe--which is provided with it along with a large fir cone at a £1 each, we've sold hundreds,

We've done Easter things, lots of Christmas activities with children, raffles ( although as I say they can be hard going), tombolas, any bric a brac we've collected together and taken a table at table top sales sometimes.

Then of course there is the  'Favourite Walks' collection by a few well known people and staff at RSPB Conwy, which I am currently updating. Joy (one of the other members) sometimes runs Jive dances and has arranged special charity nights with experts, they were brilliant, with quizzes and raffles and lots of laughing.

Not to forget putting our 'long suffering' but really good sport manager in the stocks!  See below image.

Everyone knows someone, or maybe someone with contacts to well known wildlife presenters etc, and if not, well I just ask, as they can only say 'yes' or 'no' I've found contact numbers through googling a name.  They rarely said 'no'.

Above all we've had some fun, meeting over a cuppa when we've bandied ideas off each other, one idea can develop and lead to another, and many of the other volunteers at RSPB Conwy will help us if needed at various activities/functions. Everyone's great.
