To celebrate the start of National Nestbox Week, a free family workshop is being organised this Sunday 16 February at Penlan Farm Uchaf to create the perfect love-nest for the wildlife in your garden. National Nestbox Week starts on Saturday 14 February each year and is run by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), and after 10 years it is now an established part of the ornithological calendar. For more info visit bto.org/nnbw/index.htm

Whether you are a DIY expert or have never picked up a hammer in your life, the free workshop will be a great opportunity for the whole family to get involved, and a great way to create inviting homes for birds and other creatures, where they will fall in love and bring up their own families this Spring.

The workshop will start from 11am-2pm on Penlan Uchaf Farm, off Carmarthen Road, Kidwelly, SA17 5AF and donations to cover material costs welcome on the day. Please bring your own lunch but tea and coffee will be provided. For more information please ring 01554 890482 during office hours or email info@burnspet.co.uk

We are also looking for volunteers help prepare the wood for the  above nest box making event, so if you have some excellent carpentry skills that you want to share, we would love to hear from you. We have enough wood for 50 boxes ready to be cut into sections for the above event, and would love your help to do so. Please contact Ami Marsden to volunteer your time on Sunday 16 February from 10am-2pm on ami.marsden@rspb.org.uk or call 01554 890 482
