If you took part in our M4 campaign action back in May you may have received a number of letters/ emails from the Welsh Government or the consultants who are tasked with communication around the public inquiry. You do not have to do anything to respond to these letters/ emails if you wish to maintain your objection. RSPB Cymru is maintaining its objection to the scheme and we are preparing to give evidence at the public inquiry.
In a letter sent out to campaigners last month the Welsh Government set out their main reasons for pressing ahead with the motorway and attempting to allay the concerns of objectors. You can read our response to the claims in the letter here.
The latest correspondence is from Persona Associates who are organising the inquiry, this includes the notes from the pre-inquiry meeting (which RSPB Cymru attended) and a form for you to complete should you wish to appear at the public inquiry or submit further information for the Inspectors’ consideration. If you do not wish to appear or send any additional information you do not have to do anything, although it can help the Inspectors in planning the inquiry timetable if you return your form stating that you do not wish to appear.
Be reassured we will be monitoring inquiry developments and continuing to make sure nature’s voice is heard.
