I take one day off and what happens? It would seem that the pesky peregrine chick had a go at flying, or more likely, non-intentional gliding yesterday morning. Luckily this journey to the ground was reported and allowed our rescue team to pick up the chick (licence required; don’t do this at home folks! – ring us we know trained licence holders). She then had a ring fitted (all clouds have silver linings) before being escorted onto the roof of the City Hall.

I have heard her and her parents today so all would seem to be well. I think it will not be long until she flies back onto the tower, until then it is a case of listen and wait. I hope this dreadful weather for wildlife and humans settles down soon, Wales is taking far too much of a battering. Here’s to better times ahead and being able to follow the life of this lucky peregrine.
